Have you ever come across a quote that sticks with you forever?
This quote struck me like a ton of bricks and I’ve applied it to everything in life, including my business.
“You must want to be a butterfly so badly, you are willing to give up being a caterpillar”.
Sekou Andrews (School Teach and Poet)
It’s true that most people want to be a butterfly (an analogy of some sort, unless you really want to be a butterfly??) or have their business take off like a butterfly.
Who wouldn’t?! But how badly do you really want it?
Do you want it badly enough to give up the security of the earth beneath your feet?
Being a caterpillar is easy.
Knowing that you don’t have far to fall even if you do fail.
It’s a different story being a butterfly.
There is a lot more at risk and unknowns that you have never faced before.
There’s also a lot more distance between you and the ground if things go wrong.
But being able to take off whenever you want to heights you never even imagined is a feeling that only the ones that want it badly enough feel.
Why am I TRYING to be so poetic all of a sudden?
I’m really not, but I came across a few entrepreneurs over the past few weeks who reminded me of this quote.
They are experiencing tremendous business success because they want it so badly that they are doing whatever it takes to get to their goal.
Excuses are a dime a dozen, true commitment and tenacity is rare!
When you want it badly enough, things fall into place, doors open for you that would not normally be open and the momentum carries you in the direction you are looking to go.
It all starts with one simple thing, DESIRE!
Ask yourself, how badly do you really want it?
Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to read this blog.
Have an awesome one!
